HRS > Realisations > Hydrogen refueling station in Lisboa
HRS is supplying a hydrogen station to Hychem, a manufacturer specialising in the production of green hydrogen. Located at its headquarters in Lisbon, the station is designed to refuel vehicles for private and public use.
With decades of experience behind it, Hychem is a pioneer of innovation in sustainable energy solutions, thanks in particular to investments in the production of green hydrogen.
Hychem has an innovative project: to host Portugal's first stationary green hydrogen refueling station at its site in Póvoa de Santa Iria, near Lisbon, in early 2025.
Portugal has put in place a €7 billion National Hydrogen Strategy, with the aim of increasing hydrogen's share of final energy consumption to 5% by 2030.
Its specific objectives include a gradual increase in the use of hydrogen in road transport to 20% by 2050, the installation of 100 hydrogen refueling stations by 2030 and the installation of 2 GW of electrolysers by the same deadline, with a target of 5 GW by 2050.

HRS is delivering an HRS14 station to Hychem in H1 2025. After being manufactured on the Champagnier site, the station is transported to Lisbon to be installed by HRS teams (craning, connection, piping, wiring, etc.). The HRS commissioning experts then start up the station, following a complete commissioning protocol for putting the station into operation with hydrogen.
Dual-pressure, the HRS14 station can address all the desired uses of Hychem, namely fueling fleets of private and public buses, lorries and light vehicles.
This is the 1st station in Portugal for HRS, a concrete representation of the company's international expansion strategy.
As a leading producer in the Portuguese green hydrogen market, already able today to supply large quantities of hydrogen to the market, including the mobility market, we are proud of our pioneering initiative to install a green hydrogen refuelling station for vehicles at our Povoa site, to serve partners in the mobility sector, in partnership with a highly qualified manufacturer of hydrogen refuelling stations.
Manuel Gil Antunes, CEO of HyChem
Versatile, flexible and with proven reliability, the HRS14 station is the best-selling station in our range. This dual-pressure station is compatible with a wide range of applications.
